A lot of us enjoy the warm weather, but a select few of us still enjoy (or perhaps tolerate) the cold weather. And nothing quite says winter like a fresh snowfall! On the rare occasion Rhode Island experiences more than one inch of snow while there's swell in the water, you can find a select few of dedicated riders on the shore eager to have a snow session.
As most of Rhody was hunkered down to wait out several inches of wintery white, a few of us drove down to the beach. The roads were barely plowed, the sky was still gray with cloud cover, but the wind was down and the surf was up.
I hung around in the parking lot while these lady sliders suited up and captured some lifestyle moments rarely seen by fair weather surfers. The snow makes everything more beautiful, and to experience a morning like this with friends left everyone smiling!

Some days I just don't feel like swimming. Some days I don't feel like shooting with a 7lb telephoto setup on the beach. Those days are perfectly suited for drone shots, should the wind be accommodating enough.
I've only had a couple drone flights this winter, one during a sunny but cold morning at the beach, and a second during a slightly windier day at Point Judith lighthouse. It's always a refreshing perspective!
