Good swell doesn't come terribly often to Rhode Island during summer months, unless you like longboarding days in 2 footers. But a couple Fridays ago we were surprised with a day or so of chest to head high sets rolling up the coast.
The forecast was only for 3-4 ft, but after swimming out at Matunuck bright and early I checked the buoy report and it was still 6 ft at 9 seconds! Definitely bigger than forecasted, and spending some time in the ocean was perfect for a hot and humid morning. It was a crowded lineup, but I spent two hours in the water and sun with some friends, getting used to swimming with my water housing in bigger surf. This session was shot with my Nikon D750, 50mm prime, in my Liquid Eye housing.
