Wickford Regatta 2014

This was my second year covering this event, and while I was unable to get on the water for the first day of races (due to the Sail Newport Youth Challenge) I was able to go out on Sunday.  The wind was flukey, the breeze was fairly light, but it was still terrific to see all the one-design boats competing so close to home!  There were several returning faces and both the laser fleet and F18 fleet...

MOY Classic Yacht Regatta

The very last weekend of August, one of the most beautiful celebrations of classic boats was held out of Newport Harbor in foggy and rainy conditions.  The Museum of Yachting's Annual Classic Yacht Regatta boasted several classes with boats ranging from 20 feet to 50 feet in length.  Canvas sails, varnished wood spars, teak decking... it's a gorgeous regatta that I love to see every year.  This...

So the cruise was drawing to a close, and I was having a hard time believing a whole week had passed.
