Green Hill #3 and a New Lens

Green Hill. A stretch of Rhode Island beach along the southern shores crowded with empty summer condos and beach houses. This little spot will have surf every now and again, and on a clear day you can see Block Island on the horizon. It's nice to have a place of solitude, but this visit was on one of our unseasonably warm days, about 50 degrees in the middle of January. I wasn't alone as there...

Foggy Point Judith - Black & White Conversion

Fifty degree weather in the middle of January tends to lead to foggy situations. I decided to venture out early one morning to see if I could catch some sea smoke with a great sunrise, but instead I was greeted with the thickest fog I had seen in quite a long time. I went all the way down to Point Judith's Fisherman's Memorial Park where I knew I could capture some foggy seascapes. A large boulder...

First it was to this little spot along Route 1A for some of the surf. The surf was up to about 5+ with a nice offshore breeze but a lot of the usual places were pretty crowded, so a few friends of mine used...

Seascapes and Sunrise Tides

Mid November we had a string of nice warm days (and by warm I mean around 50-60° midday). Of course, it was still below 40 most mornings, but we were predicted to have partial cloud cover and above freezing temperatures so I went to Narragansett Beach for some sunrise shots! I was walking along hoping to find something partially submerged by the water to anchor the foreground of my composition but...
