The Wickford Regatta has been hosted annually by Wickford Yacht Club in the spirit of early-season one-design fun! This year's classes included Lasers, Club 420, International 420, F18 catamarans, 505s, J/22s, and new this year were 29ers. Both days were well into the 80s and low 90s, but we were blessed with beautiful breeze all weekend.
Racing kicked off on Day 1 around noon, with Alpha...
This was my fourth year shooting the Wickford Regatta. I couldn't believe that it had been that long, and that I was able to revisit this one event so consistently! It was a unique year for this regatta as well. Saturday was overcast and rainy, with threat of a squall rolling through that afternoon. There were several returning faces and both the laser fleet and F18 fleet...
Bravo circle was full of high performance one design boats: the 505s, F-18 catamarans and the triple-handed Vipers. While I still bounced between both circles on day two of the Wickford Regatta, I spent much more time on Bravo circle. It was the first time I had seen F-18s sail and they were quite exciting to watch! Day two of the regatta had very similar conditions to the first day, with...
