Sunset at the Point

I haven't been in the water for sunset in a while.  But the opportunity finally presented itself a couple weeks ago.  The sky was clear for once, there was a bump of swell in the water but apparently no one really deemed it worthwhile because the lineup was empty.  Fellow photographer friend Gus Potter grabbed his board instead of a camera, and the two of us hopped in with only half an hour or so before sunset to catch a few with the one other soul already in the water.   It was a little windy and wonky, and certainly cold, but it was one of my favorite sessions this month.  You just can't beat that dusky light!

Surf // Hurricane Chris

The northeast is not known for having good summertime surf. Typically summer swells will only reach 2–3ft, but mid July saw the arrival of gorgeous chest high sets thanks to Hurricane Chris. But now I've had the...

Guadeloupe // Last Days

Day 7 – Les Des SaintesIt was an early start for once, leaving the anchor in Bouillante by 7:30am.  It was a calm night, with just one squall rolling down the mountains at 4am, then the usual winds whistling through the hills and rigging, swinging us around as the sun came up.We had a decision to make about where to spend one of our last nights in Guadeloupe. We could try to make it a little more...
