If you talk to anyway wave hunting lately, most everyone is pretty annoyed with this season's swell. We usually expect big nor'easter storms to roll thru in the winter months, generating big waves and heavy offshore winds. Last season we were totally spoiled with head to overhead 6-8'+ days regularly occurring once a week. This season has been a little different, but perhaps that's a good thing to get me more accustomed to swimming in cold conditions.

Summer summer summer! In celebration of summer I rose bright and early to get to the beach for a 5am photoshoot with model Elise. We wanted some golden hour beachy surf lifestyle shots, and we had the whole place to ourselves to play! Sunrise takes some serious motivation for me. Luckily, in the wintertime the sun rises at 7am instead of 5am, so it's a little easier to crawl out of bed and go for a morning adventure. I recently took such an adventure, and while I didn't quite make it to the beach in time for the morning pinks and purples, I launched my drone first thing to photograph the golden glow on the water.
